Audio & transcriptions
All speech recognition, transcription, and AI text cleanup run fully on your Mac using Apple Silicon. Your audio and transcripts are never sent to any server.
Subscription verification
When you activate a subscription, your email address is sent to our server solely to verify your purchase status via Stripe. This check is performed once per day. No other personal data accompanies this request.
Trial & hardware ID
During the free trial period, a non-reversible hardware identifier derived from your Mac is sent to our server once to record that a trial has started. This prevents unlimited trial restarts and is not linked to any personal identity.
Auto-updates
Input Casper uses Sparkle for automatic updates. When checking for updates, your current app version and macOS version are sent to our GitHub-hosted release feed. No personal information is included.
Analytics & tracking
We collect zero analytics or usage telemetry. There is no third-party tracking SDK in the app.
Data storage
All user preferences, transcripts, and meeting recordings are stored locally in ~/Library/Application Support/InputCasper/ on your Mac. We have no access to this data.
